Not only will we get a new Bishop in September and a new Rector eventually, St. Mary's is about  to welcome Revd. Judith Bee as its new Priest-in-charge;  she will be licensed at St. Mary's on 8th September.

The next Big Question will be on Sunday 15th August in the Seward Room at 7.30pm, subject to be agreed.  See What's on for summaries of past discussions.

From our Churchwardens:

We are responsible for affairs at St Mary’s during the inter-regnum between Dave's retirement and Judith's arrival.  We extend our warmest welcome to you.

The church stands at the centre of the village and draws its congregation both from it and the surrounding area. We come together week by week to worship God and to celebrate the Eucharist.  There is a variety of services and we welcome children.  The Church is open every day for private prayer and for anyone who wishes to look around.

St Mary’s is part of a group ministry shared with St Peter’s in Petersfield and St Mary Magdalen in Sheet.  It is the oldest of the three churches.

Do please browse this site and we look forward to your worshipping with us.

And from everyone who contributed to this site:

Welcome to the web site of St. Mary's, Buriton.

The church dates from the 12th century.  It was the mother church for the local area until the late 19th century  The church description will give you a good idea of some of its more obvious features, a modern one of which is the millennium window.

The annual church meeting (ACM) report for 2009 summarizes many of its activities;  please contact any of those mentioned if you would like to get involved.  The monthly pew sheet gives all of the topical information.  Casting a slightly wider net, The Rock is the excellent newspaper of the group ministry - a good read if ever there was one!

The people and links page is self evident as are those for the services, stop press, feedback and things of interest.  The What's on page promotes some, intentionally all, of the planned activities.
